Introduction

The club came into being in 1994 as a meeting place for recreational, touring and commuting cyclists. Since then we have enjoyed tens of thousands of kilometres biking together, and grown to a membership of about 275. The club accommodates cyclists with a wide range of skill, fitness and experience, and welcomes the diversity. Rides are social, non-competitive and cater for most levels of proficiency. Several rides take place on most weekends, and new cyclists are always welcome to join in and be given a helping hand as required. Each Saturday, the club has organised 20km, 25km, 30km, 33km, 34km, 35km and 40km return loop rides, each with a ride leader. The average speed varies from a gentle 15km / hr average for a slower 20km ride, to a faster 30km/hr for a 40km ride. There is a ride to suit most levels of cycling experience and bike type. The starting locations will vary from a choice of locations on the Sunshine Coast. Occasionally rides can start in neighbouring areas in the South-East corner of Queensland. Generally each ride will stop at a local coffee shop en-route, for a social chat and recharge, before returning to the start location. Please check the current ride calendar for the next ride.

Once a month, all ride groups on Saturday will meetup in a common area for After Ride Coffee.

On Sundays, the club has organised two or more rides: one a little less adventurous and at a slower pace, and a longer ride for a bit of a challenge. Also we have Mountain/Hybrid bike rides, which explore tar and dirt roads and trails. Please check the ride calendar for the next ride, and phone the ride leader if you want more information about the ride.

Always happy to see new cyclists join us on our rides.
